The art of illumination is constantly becoming more fantastical as innovative design trends and new inspirations are flowing through the hands of contemporary light designers

Grass with Sass

Reminiscent of my childhood, this fabulous little table lamp is a must have enviromentalists and garden enthusiasts alike. Tsunami Glassworks has developed a sensational sontemporary and multi-functional lighting unit. The Grass Lamp allows you to bring the outdoors inside, with a prototype that investigates the possibilities of using everyday household items in order to “multitask”. The lamp stands 10 inches tall and not only illuminates, but grows a consumable crop of wheatgrass. It is an intriguing combination of steel, light and garden that is aesthetically pleasing and will be a great conversation piece in any room.

Floating Spheres

Union Lighting brings us this striking, illuminating work of art that is a far cry from the elaborate, antique crystal chandler that hangs in my parents dining room. New lighting trends have given this seemingly floating, double sphere contemporary crystal chandelier a remarkably distinctive character. It is masterfully handcrafted using Radiant Spheres hand cut and hand polished crystals suspended with thin cables that halogen lights, recessed in the polished chrome canopy. The Floating Spheres chandelier displays the rich and colorfull beauty of the crystals with virtually invisible and effortless support that affords the eye a mesmerizing experience.
